TOWOT BIO
TOWOT is the uncompromising continuation of the legendary anarcho-punk band SMAR SW, which was born in Rzeszów in 1989. 25 years after SMAR SW ceased its activity, the members of TOWOT decided to revive those sounds and words, as their message is still relevant, and perhaps even more so than when it was created.
SMAR SW was a band deeply rooted in punk and anarchist ideology. They actively participated in anarchist movements and always emphasized that punk is not just music, but a broad concept, a lifestyle, and an uncompromising attitude towards an oppressive system. They rejected journalistic labeling and manipulation, focusing on authenticity and independent thinking.
TOWOT, drawing from this heritage, plays SMAR SW's songs anew, keeping the fire of rebellion and defiance alive. In their music, which they describe as "trance noise sludge punk," the echo of those ideas can be heard. This is a band that carries the slogan "Destroy power to live!" and provokes thought: "they think for you, they think in your head...".
TOWOT is a voice for those who reject false religion, inferiority complexes, and systemic oppression. It is a reminder to be strong, determined, and true.
